Meet Jeremy

Jeremy Evans’ roots run deep in DeSoto Parish. His family has been a part of DeSoto Parish since its inception. Jeremy first learned about public service from his grandparents, Floyd and Geneva Evans. Floyd “Bud” Evans was a WWII Vet, dairyman, and longtime Constable in DeSoto Parish and his grandmother, Geneva, cared for families throughout DeSoto Parish while serving as Nurse Supervisor of the DeSoto Parish Health Unit. Together they instilled in Jeremy that there was no greater reward than serving others. They taught him the value of community service. Jeremy honors their legacy by serving as Clerk of Court.

Jeremy was raised on a small family farm in southern DeSoto Parish. While working on the family farm he learned the values of hard work, helping others, and fairness. Living on a farm in a rural area brought with it a commitment to the community. That commitment was helping your neighbor; whether it was fixing fences, herding cows, or just giving someone a ride, he was always ready to assist.

After attending Louisiana State University, Shreveport, Jeremy began his career as an independent Landman working in Clerks’ Offices throughout North and Central Louisiana. This is where he learned the innerworkings of the Clerk’s Office. After working independently for several years, Jeremy went on to found Evans Land Company in DeSoto Parish in 2009. Evans Land Company specialized in land services such as land acquisitions, leases, ownership pay decks and other land services throughout Louisiana. The lessons learned, personal connections, and mutual friendships forged from this time has served as the basis for many personal and professional successes he has had.

Jeremy is married to Christina Schuler Evans. Christina attended nursing school at Northwestern in Natchitoches and is currently a pediatric nurse at Caring Hands Pediatrics & Christus Highland Medical. After Christina and Jeremy were married, they chose to make DeSoto Parish their home and raise their family. They have two children, Mason and Amelia, who both attend school in DeSoto Parish.

Jeremy has served as Clerk of Court since being elected in 2011. Being Clerk has given him the opportunity to put those ingrained values into action and accomplish goals for the greater good.

As a husband, father, and small business owner, Jeremy understands the challenges we face daily in DeSoto Parish. He will take realistic avenues to work with stakeholders across broad spectrums or political parties to give DeSoto Parish a strong voice in the Clerk’s Office. He will continue working to expand services, implementing new technologies, and saving taxpayers money.

Jeremy is pro-life, a member of the NRA, a past member of the DeSoto Soil and Water Conservation District, and a current member of the Sabine River Authority. Jeremy and Christina are members of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mansfield. Their children, Mason and Amelia, attend Saint Joseph's Catholic School in DeSoto Parish.
